Welcome to the first edition of the Official Slough SEND Parent Carer Forum (PCF) Monthly Newsletter. We are proud to announce that we are officially the Slough SEND Parent Carer Forum, representing the voices of parent carers of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the borough of Slough.

As the recognised Parent Carer Forum, our role is to ensure that the experiences, views and priorities of families influence the design, delivery and improvement of local SEND services. We work collaboratively with education, health, social care and community organisations to ensure that parent voices are heard where decisions are made.
|
|
Our Forum is parent-led, meaning that many of us have first-hand experience of raising children with SEND. We understand the challenges, frustrations and achievements that families experience every day, and we are committed to ensuring that no family feels alone on their journey.

This newsletter will be published every month to keep you informed about our work, local SEND news, upcoming events, opportunities to get involved and your rights as parent carers.

- Promote inclusion and improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

We believe parents are experts through experience and deserve to be equal partners in shaping local services.

SEND Law Corner — Know Your Rights
|

Did you know? Parents have the legal right to request an Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment if they believe their child requires additional support. You do not need to wait for your child's school to make the request.
